Minnesota boater education
Minnesota currently requires a boater education card from all persons 12 to 17 years old who are unsupervised and operate a boat over 25 hp. Additionally, persons 14 to 17 years old who are unsupervised and operate a personal watercraft must also obtain a boater education card.
Additionally, many insurance agencies offer a boat insurance discount for older boaters who have taken a boating safety course.
