IMPORTANT BOATING RESOURCE!
Our 2019, review of boat insurance companies is now published.
All Things Boat maintains an annual boat insurance comparison page. This page walks you through the basics of boat insurance and then provides an brief review of the best boat insurance providers in the U.S.
Our boat insurance comparison page started as a resource for our marina friends on G dock. We kept putting work into the article and now we have a very thorough page, which we think is a handy resource for all boaters.
Here’s our 2019 review of boat insurance providers.
Hope it helps!
Here’s a few other boating pages we like..
If you want more boat jokes, this page has a great collection of boating puns. Puns have a bad reputation as being ‘dad humor’, but I think puns are the highest form of humor.
The wooden boat forum is a great site for anyone looking for a advice from the wooden boat community. This site also has a really cool page on nautical humor. Users of the page have all chimed in to add their favorite boat jokes. Here is that page.
If you’re thinking about taking a long boat trip, you may need a solar-powered generator. There are advantages over this type of system as compared to a gasoline powered generator. I am intrigued with these machines, so I just wrote this review of my favorite solar powered generators. I go through the entire price range from 20$ to 2000$.
If you’re curious about the history and mystery that surrounds the naming of a boat, then you will enjoy reading this article. In this article, we attempt to answer the age-old question. Why do boats have names, but cars do not?
Thanks for visiting our page of clever boat names!
Boating is a big part of my life.
In recent news, my wife and I have recently sold our boat.
This was an emotional process for me. I have been with this boat for 12 years. It’s a long story but before I sold the boat I wanted one last adventure. So, I convinced my fiancee (we were unmarried at the time) to join me on a sail into Mexican waters and around the tip of Cabo San Lucas. We did this and it went very well. At which point, I had promised we would then sell the boat upon arrival in Mexico…but of course that was a half-truth.
Once you get your boat into the Sea of Cortez, you must keep her in the Sea of Cortez…So the boat sat in La Paz for two years. During this time, we visited the boat often in La Paz and then took the boat out to the many islands in this beautiful stretch of water. This is easier than it may seem. Espiritu Santo Island is a mere 25 nautical miles from La Paz Harbor.
Anyway, we finally handed the boat over to Tom at La Paz Yachts. He got the boat sold and now I have some money in my bank account, but I have no boat.
I am a man without a boat….
This is quite a predicament.
If anyone should ask…I am looking for a small 25 foot sailboat. Something I can throw on a mooring ball and forget about…. until I need a good night sleep. Upon which I will swim out to that vessel and collapse.
To be continued….
